<div>Our car was broken into on thursday, and David and I and are trying to recover our valuable and irreplaceable performance gear. We just want it back, we are offering a reward, and no questions asked. The items are:
a turkish banjo with a thin neck and a round wooden head, with a pick-up
3 dance costumes heavily decorated with coins and beads, one black and white, one gold-ish, and one black with fabric floral elemens and old keys on it. All are covered in antique jewelry
About 12 large and heavy silver indian bracelets, antique as well
Two metallic scarves-covered in silver thread with designs
A metal box with fancy trims and rhinestone flowers in it

We need these things to perform, and without them we are having hard times indeed! Please if you can help us, we will be so grateful!!!!

<div>New Paradigm – The Great Unexpected

WE HAVE A NEW WEB SITE !

http://www.yarddogsroadshow.com

There HAS been a feeling of the impossible and
unexpected around here. We just flew our entire show
to Portugal and it WORKED. Our magic chicken Josephine
Baker is laying eggs by the dozen. And in our
never-ending attempt to define exactly what it is that
we do, we have built an ENTIRELY new web site. The old
site has been scattered to the wind. Now we have more
room to daydream. And if all goes well, these
daydreams will be manifesting soon, on a stage near
you.

WE ARE TAKING THE SKELETON APART AND PUTTING IT BACK
TOGETHER AGAIN - THE NEW ARRANGEMENT MAY BE A BIT
UNUSUAL

WE SEE MOUNTAINS AND SUNSHINE - LAKES AND SLEEPING
ANIMALS

See you soon.

It will be available on BDSS tables, and hopefully everywhere else. I gotta tell ya, it's such a great experience, to sit down while the music is being created, and say, hey, can you put a few hits here, and howsabout a drum solo.

<div>I am currently touring with the Yard Dogs Road show, and I have been teaching a few bellydance workshops along the way. I have been super lucky to get to work with amazing sponsers. I can't say enough about these ladies organizational skills, and ability to make one feel relaxed and taken care of! I am speaking of the wonderful Keishi of New York, and Jenna of Newport News. Talk about Rad! New York was a whirlwind of activity, and we booked the class a few hours in Manhattan before a Yard Dog show, so it had the potential to be really hectic. But Keishi had it all worked out, and the class went super smooth. It was a real treat to get to work with the east coast ladies! Then afterwards Keishi took me all over Manhattan, and then there was the live hip-hop jam! I had a blast, lemmee tell yah!

And then next week to Newport News with Jenna, her wonderful Daughter Dana (and very talented with the voi), and of course Ju-linn (did I spell that right?) Evrything down to a coffee in my hand before hunkering down was all set up. And did those ladies ever bust ass! Jeez guys! Talk about hard workers!

Two absolutely fantastic experiences, thanks guys!

<div>Ever wanted to know what touring was lIke? Well...fergit the glamour. Try Groundhog Day, you know, that movie with Bill Murray, where he keeps waking up to the same thing every day, over and over, and almost goes crazy, until he realizes that it's a chance to serve something bigger than himself, and not to sound too cheezy (too late), It's when you realize that even though to you, night after night it's the same show, the people out there in the audience are seeing it for the first time, are completely taken in, and it's pretty special to them. And you gotta respect and love that, and, really, that's where the glamour is. So, I guess, I take that back....

P.S. Barbara Copeland is Lord of the Dance.

    </a>
<div>So I've got this amazing man over in Ghana with his band Aphrodesia, doing some pretty amazing stuff, promoting alternatives to petroleum in a country where everyone is struggling to survive under a money and Oil corrupt Government, bringing water filters that make the well water drinkable, which otherwise would make the people ill or dead, dirt poor people that pay for every glass of water they drink.....I am very proud of him and the people in Aphrodesia, and I want people to know about what they are doing, and maybe get involved in his group, Clean Fuel Caravan Coalition, a group that is struggling to get funds for what is a very significant social and environmental issue right now. Check out the Africa blog at www.aphrodesia.org (very interesting and entertaining read), you can also find links there to the Coalition, to find ways to convert your vehicle to vegetable oil, or find out about Biodiesel stations in your area that run off of regular diesal engines.

And for the ladies who love the Bellydance Superstars....We are trying to get a bus, a bigger bus that has lots of room to stretch and sleep.....wouldn't it be wonderful if that bus ran on veggie oil? Or biodiesel? I think so too....a company like BDSS is a great example to others and running our bus on fuel that is not supporting wars in the middle east, or countries struggling under the choke of oil money sounds like a great thing to do. So let them know! l know I'm going to...

<div>What a Blowout!!!! I just got home from an amazing night of Dancing and Partying with the best people ever....I was lucky enough to share the stage with some incredibly talented Ladies, and Gentlemen. The music was insane, and It was friggin packed...thanks to everybody who came out and supported. Mira Betz was (as usual) amazing, Liz Strong "oh my gawd" (actual quote repeated constantly as she was performing by a girl sitting next to me), Christina Canusaurasssss...Yeah, that woman moves like no other. And the Ultra Gypsies were out in force with Jill and Rose kicking ass, and Holly Gibson, you've got "ut", lady, yes you dooo. And as if the audience hadn't busted enough of a nut, six times at this point (at least), This Klezmer band rocks it better than Slayer, and some nutjob accordion player is freaking out on the bar (Dan Cantrel, to be exact), and the entire room is Flipping out, its sooooo fucking good (yes, the F word, used exactly as it should be), I, at a certain moment, looked out on the utter chaos and knew that at that moment, everything was good with the world.... </div>

<div>I got the worst Laryngitis ever from that night and ended up spending all of the next day in bed recovering with lots of tea. It was worth it though....The Yard Dogs show was amazing, and I'll tell ya, there is nothing more disconcerting as trying not to get thrown off by a giant image of your head, so frickin big that you can see your pores. I was doing my slow, supposedly sultry sword dance, and I turn around (back to the audience) and
KAPOW!&amp;*$!, holy crap! It's my giant head on the screen! And I'm like, hey look at that zit on my back, ew oh my hair is soo messy, and shit my bra, its not clasped right!!! Oh, yeah, I'm supposed to be dancing, do do do, putting the sword on my head, wow, look how frickin big that thing is...wierd, okay dancing....

Anywhooo...It was a blast, and I got to ring in the new year with some serious tribal limbo! Hee Hee... </div>

<div>I just returned from France, and I did the first thing on my list to do when I got home, eat Huevos Rancheros! Oh beans how I love you, and how impossible you are to get in france! The closest thing we could find to a burrito was getting rice wraps and putting kidney beans in them (no we didn't do that, ewwww). And I think I can never eat tuna again...or panini, or tomatos, or mozzarella. Next on my list I must eat Sushi, Indian food, and Ethiopian...Mmmmmm...</div>

<div>Wow...2 months in europe, crazy. Kinda feel like I was ripped out of reality and placed in another kooky kind of reality...felt like forever and no time at all. I saw some of the most beautiful architecture I've ever seen, and graveyards, lots of incredibly beautiful graveyards. The Pere La Chaise in Paris was exquisite, it's kind of like a city for the dead. I guess that's exactly what it's like. Some of the particularely old headstones were smooth from age, and you could barely see the names anymore...old trees had dug their roots into the very very old graves, and stone was all smashed up...my mother would laugh, because it's typical of me...one afternoon off and instead of going to the eiffel tower I check out the graveyard. The place we lived had a graveyard next to it in Monaco, and miss Josephine Baker was placed in that dirt...pretty lucky dirt, I'd say. She danced at the Monte Carlo..on the same stage as us. When we left all the plants we had been caring for in the months that passed were place on her grave.

And here I sit in a hotel in london staying up late so I can beat jeat lag tomorrow... </div>
