I know the Divine answers prayers...

Current mood: determined

Thursday night should have been two more hours to SF. Luckily I hit the beginnings of a nasty storm that was a brewing in the area. Add tiredness from the driving, bright lights and splashing trucks, not so pleasant. I pulled off the 5 and managed to find a road with little civilization, so after freaking out, I parked my car on the shoulder next to a mountain. There i remained for 9 and half hours because I was more afraid to get back on the road than get hit by another car. At 3:15 am CHP stopped by. They told me I had to move, which I put forth effort. Freaked out and pulled over right away. This is when the Divine let me know for definite my prayers were answered. One cop drove my car 4 miles down the road, while I was in back of the cop car. They nicely deposited me at an all night restaurant to wait out till daylight. They said that they had never done this before. Yay for me!

Same morning on the road at 7:15 am. Should be another hour and a half to SF. No. I freak out again and decide I'm not driving ever again. This will not work since I am driving alone. So after 2 hours I find another route without truckers. Then the winds become obnoxious. Then I find another road. Finally I drive up through the cities at 30 mph with trees down and lights out to arrive at my destination at 1:30p. Hurray, I have a temporary place to stay and school is great. Now to not have to drive for a little while.

Whew!
Glad you made it safely! And it's nice to know that the police sometimes ARE there when you need them!

What a night! I was wondering about you, glad you made it in one piece :) I've run into fairly liberal cops in Cali myself - it's a different planet compared to Fleaorida... Glad school is off to a good start!
